Our next crew arrives
Our first crew leaves and Carla and Scott arrive to join us for a week and move the boat to Eluthera
We finished the week off with two of our favorite stops - Pete's Pub and Nippers Bar and Grill. Pete's Pub was established in the 60' as an art community. They established a foundry where Pete made amazing bronze sculptures. It has an eclectic bar that has not changed much over the last 40 years. They are known for the special shots which consists of rum and a lot of sticks, spices, seaweed and lots of other goodies. Our final stop was Nippers and Grabbers bar on Guana Cay. Unfortunately it was a cloudy, wind and cool day so we were the only customers there. The next day, we dropped one group of friends off - did laundry and cleaned before Scott and Carla arrived. We went back to Guana for a great Sunday at Nippers before heading to Hopetown where we spent 2 days. We rented a golf cart to explore the island and then finished up with cruisers bingo where about almost 100 people show up every Monday for bingo. We did some amazing walks to see the beach and beautiful houses on Elbow Cay. We finished the day off at one of the most amazing beaches in the Caribbean. On Wednesday we made our way down to Sandy Cay which has some of the best elkhorn coral in the world and it did not disappoint. We saw turtles, sharks and thousands of fish and coral. We finished the evening off at a remote anchorage where we visited the Atlantic ocean beach. One thing you see firsthand is all of the plastic waste in the ocean. Every unkept beach you see is littered with plastic buckets, nets, bottles, etc. We always collect it where we can but the garbage is endless. We started Sue's first ocean crossing from Abaco Islands to Eluthera Island (about 60 miles) this morning at 7 am and I am writing now from about 30 miles offshore in the Atlantic Ocean!
