A PASSION FOR SAILING

Dave grew up sailing in Canada and has shared that passion with his family for over 25 years. Starting with a CS 27 monohull on Lake Ontario, the love of sailing took them on countless Caribbean charters. Today, they own and charter Rumaway, a 2023 Lagoon 42 catamaran based in the beautiful British Virgin Islands.

Dave grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, where he raced Laser sailboats in his youth. In college, he became a top-level sailing instructor, running clinics and certifying instructors across the country. In his late twenties, he spent six months sailing through the Bahamas aboard a C&C 27 with friends a formative adventure that deepened his love of sailing.

Soon after returning, Dave met Sue. The two have been married over 25 years and have built a life full of travel, adventure, and time on the water. Over the years, Sue has embraced Dave’s passion for sailing during countless charter trips across the Caribbean.

Today, they own and operate Rumaway Sailing LLC and spend several months each year exploring the Caribbean aboard their 2023 Lagoon 42 catamaran, Rumaway.
