Norman's Cay
Normans Cay our first stop in Exumas
We started our time in the Exumas in Norman's Cay. Norman's Cay is famous as it used to be owned by Carlos Lehder who was a drug smuggler who moved 80% of all the cocaine to the US through this island in the 80's. After he was arrested the island was in limbo before being redeveloped over the last 15 years. You can still see some of the small planes in the nearby water that crashed during takeoff or landing. We enjoyed a great meal at McDuffs, a restaurant that has been there for over 30 years. We ran into the Space X team at McDuffs where they were getting ready for the first Space X Falcon landing in Bahamas water. We were fortunate enough to be able to see the launch and landing.
