Goodbye Georgetown
Our final week with Andrew and Sue and Georgetown
My post content
We were excited to have Andrew arrived for March break in Georgetown. We had hoped Rob could join but he is still not well enough to travel. We had a great final week with daily volleyball games, happy hours, and some excursions. We enjoyed an amazing trip to the "Lazy River" which is a passage from the bay to the ocean where you get on floats and the current from the tide takes you out to the ocean. It was a beautiful spot and lots of fun. A highlight of the week was watching Andrew improve his volleyball skills. We played nearly every day for 2-3 hours and by the end he was playing really good and that hight helped with his spikes! We also had a wonderful day at the Coconut Beach Club where we played Bocci ball, corn hole, frisbee games and had a few drinks. It was hard to believe the week ended and the trip was over for Sue and Andrew as they headed home to McKinney. Sue loved our adventure and has signed up for our 2026 trip through the Southern Caribbean in the spring. My friend from Canada, Mike, has arrived and we are now waiting to make our way South. The trip back is about 750 miles and will be much more challenging than the trip here as we will be going against the trade winds. We are waiting on a weather window to start our trip. It currently looks like Match 31/ April 1 may provide an opportunity to head to the BVI's. The trip will take us 6-7 days of offshore upwind sailing. If all goes well we should be in the BVI's by April 10 or so and home in mid April.
