We arrived at our final cruising destination - Georgetown, Bahamas. We will stay here for 2 -3 weeks before I (along with a friend from Canada) will make the long trip back to the BVI's. Georgetown is perhaps the biggest cruising destination in the world. That are between 350-400 boats anchored here from January through April. The highlight is the annual cruisers regatta which unfortunately we missed by a few days. Our day starts here with the cruiser net. Everyone tunes into channel 68 on our VHF radio's to get the days events. We find out who is coming, going, who needs parts or help with repairs, and then all the days activities. Most days have yoga, water aerobics, poker tournaments, music jam sessions and of course beach volleyball! Once we have the details for the day we usually start with a hike on the many trails here, have lunch on the boat, play volleyball from 2-5 pm and the have dinner on the boat or at one of the local restaurants.

We were excited to have our friends Shannon and Scott join us from McKinney for 4 days. We managed to fit in happy hours, meals in town, hikes, volleyball, beach trips, a rake and scrape (local Bahamian band playing in town) and Scott's favorite - trips to the beach clubs where we played games and had a few too many drinks! It was an amazing few days and we loved showing friends what life in Georgetown is all about.

We are excited to have Andrew join us on Monday but also disappointed as we had really hoped Rob would be well enough to travel but he is not up to it. We have Andrew for a week and then Sue's trip to the Bahamas is over and I will start to work towards BVI's with my friend Mike from Canada. We should have some photos and updates next week after Andrew and Sue leave for home.
