Caribbean here we come...

After months of planning and preparation, Rumaway is ready to point south and get back into blue water. From the long passage to Grenada to island hopping through the Grenadines, we’re excited for steady trade winds, new anchorages, and plenty of time to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of life under sail.

We’re ready for our next adventure aboard Rumaway.

Dave departs January 5 and will be joined by friends Fred and Juan Carlos. Together they’ll make the 415 mile, three day non stop passage from the BVI to Grenada. Sue, along with close friends Scott and Carla, will meet them there to kick off our Caribbean journey.

We plan to spend the first two to three weeks exploring Grenada, Carriacou, and the Grenadines before our first guests head home.

Preparation has been a little lighter this time, thanks to all the work we did getting ready for the Bahamas. That said, we did complete a major electrical upgrade on Rumaway. We added 1,200 amp hours of new lithium batteries, more than three times the capacity we had last year, along with a second inverter. That means we can now run things like an air fryer, ice maker and, more importantly, keep key systems and Starlink running around the clock. It’s a big boost in both comfort and peace of mind.

We’ll reactivate our boat tracker so you can follow along in real time, and we’ll be sharing regular updates as the adventure unfolds.

We’re excited to get moving and grateful to have you along for the ride.
